National Visualization Challenge: India in 2047
The National Visualization Challenge 2024 is a competition highlighting how effectively visuals can explain complex ideas. This year's theme, "India in 2047," aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat, a vision to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 the 100th year of independence.
Objectives
- Envision the Future: Create visualizations that project India's future in various domains by 2047.
- Encourage Innovation: Foster new ideas and innovative approaches in varied fields.
- Highlight Significance: Emphasize the crucial role of visualization in strategic planning and policy-making.
- Recognize Excellence: Identify and reward outstanding contributions in visualizing India's future.
Sub Themes
Participants can submit their visualizations in the following categories:
- Economic Growth: Visualize projections of India's economic landscape, including GDP growth, sectoral development, and monetary policies.
- Technology and Innovation: Depict advancements in technology, digital infrastructure, and innovation ecosystems.
- Demographics and Society: Illustrate changes in population dynamics, urbanization, education, and societal trends.
- Environment and Sustainability: Present scenarios related to environmental conservation, climate change, and sustainable development practices.
- Healthcare and Well-Being: Visualize the future of healthcare systems, public health initiatives, and overall well-being.
- Infrastructure and Urban Development: Project the evolution of infrastructure, transportation networks, and smart cities.
Eligibility
The challenge is open to individuals and organizations from various sectors including academia, industry, government, and non-profits.
- Category I: Students
- Category II: Corporate/ Government/Non-Profit
Submission Guidelines
The competition is conducted in three phases. Participants are required to submit the following:
Phase I
- A written essay with a word limit of 1000 words that emphasizes the anticipated changes in India by 2047 along one of the sub-themes mentioned above.
Phase II
- Visualization: A high-quality image or interactive visualization representing "India in 2047."
- Abstract: A brief visualization description, including data sources, methodology, and key insights.
Phase III
- Grand Finale - Presentation (Offline/on-campus) of the visualized image in front of a jury. The duration for each participant is a maximum of ten minutes.
The winners are decided based on the marks scored in all three phases.
Prizes
Winners in each category will receive:
- Cash Prize: Rs 50,000/- for the First Prize in each category.
- Recognition: Certificates and trophies recognizing their achievement.

- Submission Start and End Dates:
- Phase I: November 5, 2024 – January 5, 2025
- Phase II (Only for selected entries from Phase I): Jan 15 – Feb 15, 2025
- Phase III: Grand Finale (Date will be communicated later)

Participants can enter the challenge by submitting their entries through the official e–mail rcdt@rajagiri.edu along with proof of identity and proof of payment.

- The essays must be in MS - Word format(.doc,.docx)
- The essay/ visualization image submitted must be original. Any usage of generative or other AI or any sort of plagiarism will attract disqualification of entries.
